“Hi. My name is Maci, and I am glad you are here. Whatever that “you” looks like. I am not here to tell you who to be or how to live your life. I am here however, to discuss real issues to real people. Much love.” -The Author
What Art Carries is written by Maci, a writer and artist who has always turned to creation as a place of safety, honesty, and emotional expression. Writing and art have been spaces where she can be open with herself, with others, and with the struggles that shape her inner life. Her work lives at the intersection of mental health, sexuality, spirituality, faith, and creativity, shaped by both devotion, questioning, and deconstructing of faith, leaving a Southern Baptist tradition. Maci is working towards three Bachelors in Biblical Studies/Theology, Ministry/Missions, and Studio Art. Rather than offering answers, Maci writes from a life still in progress, believing that people deserve the freedom to speak and be seen. What Art Carries is an offering of welcome to all people, providing honesty without shame, and art as a way of carrying ourselves and one another with care, especially while searching for light along the way.
